My story on the web
It all started when I was a little kid. I never had any approach in those times to the world wide web since I only had an ipad mini and a wii growing up (I was born on 2007). I was mainly interested on youtube and certain hispanic youtubers (like Fernanfloo) as well as other 'normal' kid stuff like the old roblox, animal jam, and creepypastas... but that's other story.
I actually started using my laptop in 2020 when I was technically forced to use it for my only classes. My journey creating stuff on the internet started with creating servers on discord, which is something more private and closed but I'll still count it. Meanwhile, instead of paying attention to my classes I was roleplaying on discord EVERY day, waking up at 7 a.m. only to turn on my laptop and go into the server I always roleplayed on.
Around 2023 I discovered a website called Spacehey, where was a fan project to bring back what used to be Myspace since it closed its gates. I had a lot of fun customizing my profile with all the layouts it had and all the possibilities. I'm not that active there cuz I wasn't usually on my computer, and right now I'm coding this website.
This is a little off topic but mid 2024 I finally had the confidence to post myself on instagran (on a private account where I was the only one with access to it). Later a friend of mine found that account and I started adding a few people who I either trusted or found my account. And around may of 2025, 2 months after I broke up with my boyfriend, it's when I started posting myself publicly on tiktok, starting my journey around the internet.
After all that I started discovering a lot of things including stuff about myself and other subcultures like punk. This year I finally took the jump to do a lot of stuff I've been thinking on, like actually becoming punk and goth and coding this website. I guess I just started developing a personality after I learned to deal with my depression LOL.
In my high school was a thing called "Training for work" or something like that where you have an extra class depending on your group. In my case I got technology while the other class was economy. Along the semesters that class changed names to focus on a specific topic, on my last semester we had "Web design" that consisted on learning html and coding. Most of the time we just opened notepad and wrote things with html, thing I was getting EXTREMELY bored of after doing it for weeks until we finally got to make a website. The teacher asked us to choose a webhost that used AI to help us create it (no, I did not use the AI), I ended choosing Wordpress to do my site, but the options to customize your site weren't enough, at least not for me as you can see. That website definitively had flaws and didn't represent me at all, cuz yeah, it had things I liked, but it was WAY too simple for someone as extra as me.
So I discarted that website and decided to create this one instead. I discovered neocities thanks to a friend while we were thinking about our website project. At the end we didn't use it because it was raw code, and we barely knew the basics because we weren't even paying attention to class (he was playing games while I was redoing my Spacehey profile LMAO), plus we didn't have too much time, it took me roughly a month to finish only the main page.
Then I started exploring neocities and discovered tons of incredible websites. I was incredibly inspired by those websites (and my Spacehey) and the fact that we can create so much using this tool called internet, so I sat down to start coding and... realized I was completely lost. I just knew the basics, I didn't know how to create a cool layout. So I started learning. The layouts created by the comunity (like this one) helped me SO MUCH with this, I feel like nothing of this could be possible without all of them so I'm extremely grateful for it and you can find the credits of every layout on the footer of every page.
And here we are, creating for the internet to see what I have to show. Honestly I love the attention but you'll never catch me admitting that irl cuz I'm no better than anybody and everyone deserves as much attention as I do. I love to show what I can do and what I know, so having my own space helps me a lot.
